Tia Tyrrell’s Portfolio Revamp

A personal brand is a creative’s first impression — it must captivate, connect, and endure. As a freelance designer, I worked for fellow SCAD alumni and former teammate, Tia Tyrrell, to transform her portfolio into a polished representation of her long-standing expertise in UX Design and Design Strategy.

Included were two main deliverables: a revamped portfolio website and a redesigned editorial piece for her thesis, titled the Nonprofit Program Design Toolkit. Together, these deliverables rejuvinate Tia’s personal brand, empowering her as she enteres a new chapter in her professional career.

The Website

Crafted in Squarespace with over 400 lines of custom code, the website redesign served as the project’s centerpiece. Every detail — typography, color palette, and layout — was crafted to reflect W3C accessibility standards and the aesthetics found in modern UX Design. Tables of contents, project filters, and site navigation buttons allow for a smooth, transparent experience. The result is a site that tells Tia’s story with clarity and relevance, reinforcing her as a leader in her field.

The Toolkit

Considered the centerpiece of Tia’s portfolio, I also tackled the Nonprofit Program Design Toolkit, a 53-page editorial piece complementing her thesis. This redesign transformed the toolkit into a digestible, engaging resource that guides nonprofit organizations (NPOs) through the Theory of Change framework. This framework allows NPOs to strategize and innovate via activities centered around design thinking and human-centered design.
